Option 1

Link Student Group Slides to a Slide Master Slide

As of September 28, 2017, users can now copy a slide from one presentation and link it to another. If the original is updated, the new linked slide will also update. For example, if a photo or caption is added, the user can select update linked slide.

How can this make yearbooks in Google Slides easier? Teachers and trusted student editors can manage the combined yearbook while the yearbook staff focuses on their group sections. I will add a video tutorial on this topic in the near future.

Option 2

Import Slides

As discussed in Setup: Google Classroom, too many students working in the same section of the yearbook can be a big problem. Groups of 3-4 students working on one section is a much better option. Of course, this means that the work must be combined at before publishing the yearbook.

  3. Select PDF.
  4. Proofread on your computer.

There is no need to print a copy of the yearbook at this point. Double check every page and every image in the PDF.  Please note that images and text boxes with comments will not download or print. Fix this before you send your 1st draft to the printing company.
